Q: Let’s begin at the top…Every comedian can recall the moment when they realized, ‘Hey, I AM funny!'; when did you first realize that you could be successful as a comedian?

A: Well, I would say my very first show. Although, coming up, alot of people always told me, “Hey, you’re funny! You should be a Comedian, or you should be on TV!”. But, yeah, my very first show was when I realized it. Being up on that stage, and having the whole place laugh at me and with me was definitely clarification! Then, the comments and compliments that I recieved after that show just stamped it!

Q: Cool! And, you mentioned in your bio that your father is a preacher, but he didn’t try to curb your sense of humor as long as you stayed out of trouble. Were there times when your joking DID get you into trouble? If so, tell us about one occasion that’s not too embarrassing to share.

A: Oh, yeah! (Laughs) A mess of times, that my joking DID get me into trouble. If I had to pick one occasion, I would have to pick one Sunday when I was about 13. I was singing on the Junior Choir and, for some reason, that day I didn’t want to sing; I wanted to “act up”! I was up there with the choir, and THEY were singing while I was lip syncing and mocking other church members at how they sung. Well, everyone in the church saw me, of course, so my dad motioned to my mom to get me. Boy, did she!! (Laughs) She came right up there, while we were singing, and snatched me up! Beat my behind, right there in front of the church! Sheesh! Learned my lesson from that for sure.

Q: Oh, wow! Too funny! (Laughs) So, now you’re signed with “GrynDE Hawse”, and you’re working on your first comedic album. What gave you the idea, and what do you hope to achieve with this album?

A: Yeah, I’m signed with GrynDE Hawse and lovin’ it! I am working on my first comedic album, which I hope will be the first of many. The idea came from Life itself. Like, I just want to tell my story (so far) through jokes, stories, and even songs! I used to buy and listen to all of the ‘Old School’ comedians when they made their albums. Like, Redd Foxx, Richard Pryor, and Flip Wilson, but mostly Martin Lawrence! Martin had a couple of albums that were classics!! I want to do a comedic album because I feel it’s something that’s not really done anymore. It’s not easy to do, but it’s definitely something that I’m gonna knock out! A mix of skits, rap songs, R&B, Spoken Word, etc…I want to show all of the talents that God has given me. I hope to achieve more laughs from the world and gain more fans with this album! Like, it won’t be like a show where you go, and then you’re riding home talking about what I said. You will have the actual album where you can go back and listen to it whenever, forever!

Q: That’s what’s good, and I hope you accomplish your goal…I know most people have someone they looked to as an example before they decided what they wanted to become in life. Who would you say most inspired you to become a Comedian, and what do/did you like most about him/her/them?

A: Hands down, Richard Pryor. I watched and listened to Pryor since as far back as I can remember! His rawness was what really captured me. Like, not so much the cursing and all, but the things he talked about, the stuff he said! Richard Pryor had no filter; he was going to say what was on his mind, and that’s that. How he captured his audience is what I loved about him! He could just walk on a stage and stand there, and the place would go NUTS!! He knew how to tell the harsh truths, and still have people crying laughing. Then, how he transformed into an actor and killed that, I loved all of that about him! So, Richard Pryor, and then watching Def Comedy Jam coming up really inspired me to do this.

Q: Alright, now you have a few upcoming shows, so when and where can fans (and future fans) check you out at a live performance?

A: Yes, I will be hosting the monthly comedy series, “Park Ave Weeze Presents: #sundaynightservice Comedy SeriesFebruary 24th, from 7-10 p.m., in Philadelphia, PA at “Redz Bar & Grille“, 8208 Roosevelt Boulevard. I will be in Woodbridge,VA March 9th (Doors open at 8 p.m., show starts at 9 p.m.) at “Hard Times Cafe & Cue“, 14389 Potomac Mills Road as a Feature in a show starring Reginald Ballard, better known as Bruh Manfrom “Martin.
